From the very beginning, ZFF has fostered a relationship and collaboration with other festivals. For those who cannot visit all the big world festivals, this program brings a selection of short films from festival greats. Selectors of European festivals have chosen films for the Zagreb audience, and this year part of the program of the Festivals in the Spotlight is shown for the first time on the croatian.film platform.

The films will be available online during the festival from November 4 to 10.

Tampere Film Festival

A Beauty Odyssey, a seasoned trucker in Pena's Special Hauling, a dance duet with a digger in Excavation, a serious man who goes into the forest as a moose (It Is What It Is) and a serious fight for My Father's Badger - these are the themes of the five titles selected by the Finnish festival selected from their program.

Riga International Film Festival

As part of the four films of the Latvian festival, we watch both animated and fiction titles alongside which we observe Debris, embark on an odyssey of dreams where In the Midst of Chaos There Was Shape, explore the hypocrisy of the film industry on the case of Claudia (Working Title) and find out the fate of The Convent Gardener.

Auteur Film Festival

The selectors of the Brave Balkan program have chosen four titles, including one Croatian - a film by Filip Mojzeš that takes us inside the Plitvice motel, which has since been demolished. In addition to the Motel, we travel on A Short Trip to Marseille, to the spot where the Project takes place, and to the south, where we Let the dewy flowers bloom.

Sarajevo Film Festival

This program brings an exciting cross-section of student short film production in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Two films are from this year's student program, Zanzibar 4K Colorized (special jury plaque) and We'll Buy the Fish Tomorrow (special Jury Award). The films Delivery and Shelter were created as part of the Shoot Your Film workshop organised by the Association of Film Workers in cooperation with the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo and the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje.

Ljubljana International Film Festival

This program of shorts invites us on a journey through the diverse tapestry of contemporary Slovenian cinema. From the fiction of the film The Sea in Between, to the classic and fictional documentaries Split Ends and Line Rider, and the animation that brings to life the folk epic song in the film Three Birds, this selection shows the diversity of genres and authors' manuscripts of Slovenian films and leads us through the dark, unknown landscapes of the inner self.

Sofia International Film Festival

This program presents some of the most recent short films by young Bulgarian creatives. 2x2 are two equal stories that complement each other in a free meditation on the topic of violence. Chocolate, best short film winner, takes us into the world of little Bobby and his family in a Roma neighbourhood. In the Premiere, we follow a director who is passionately interested in what others think of his film, and we also follow Lyubima's life after her partner leaves her.

Montenegro Film Festival

The selection brings five movies produced by students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, which bring a very diverse genre of stories. In the film Role Play, the roles are played by a lonely history teacher and a young prostitute. A daughter who decides to fight for herself tells her parent Nothing Personal, Daddy. Gabi decides to follow her dreams and sign up for the rap battle, in El Dorado the brothers Stefan and Marko seek escape and justification for their actions in superstition, and Kaća has diabetes and so what now?.
