Synopsis

Warmly and unobtrusively, in the film "Gal", Dunja Ivanišević shares intimate moments of the main protagonist, her frustrations, and fantasies shaped by the stereotypes of women’s magazines. The centerpiece is, in fact, a documented performance that serves as a symbolic act of purification, a catharsis both in the film and in life. Following this, the protagonist frees her inner impulses, changes the record—literally and metaphorically—and continues to spend her time in spontaneous dance, no longer constrained by the norms and conventions that had held her back. By stepping out of her room onto the street, she leaves both worlds behind, and the subjective camera now follows people, buildings, and other windows before finally ascending toward the sky, opening her and our view to the expanse of blue.
