The end of 2021 is approaching in the Croatian capital. Karlo (33) lives in his mother’s apartment in the centre, works from home and occasionally hangs out with friends. It’s Not Cold for Mosquitoes premiered in the student competition of the Sarajevo Film Festival. The Checkers audience is already familiar with the film’s co-director Josip Lukić as the author of Boo-boo Boo hoo hoo (ZFF 2015), Summer Fruits (ZFF 2019 – Special Mention) and Nine Months (ZFF 2020).
Born in 1993 in Zagreb. She graduated in French language and literature and Cultural Anthropology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb. She is currently studying Film Editing. It’s Not Cold for Mosquitoes is her directorial debut.
Josip Lukić was born in 1984 in Split. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Split and then from the ADU in Zagreb. Two of his films were shown in Checkers, Boo-boo Boo hoo hoo (ZFF 2015) and Summer Fruits (ZFF 2019 – Special Mention). His documentary film Momsy won the Croatian Film Days Grand Prix in 2018.
